Public awareness

The project includes the production of popular and informative papers and booklets about natural habitats, vegetation and fauna of the Resurgences, to increase the knowledge of these areas and to spread project goals and matured experiences. Materials will be also produced so as future generations will beable to give their contribution to the conservation of the Friuli Resurgences habitats.

For these purpose, booklets, posters, various educational materials, CDs and newsletters will be published (see "downloads" page).

During the project the following activities will be carried out:

• naturalistic sight-seeing in natural environments and intervention areas

• photographic contests concerning resurgences naturalistic and historical themes

• photographic contest temporary exhibitions

• theme evenings concerning the project and the resurgences natural aspects, to arouse the local population’s awareness of the topic

• technical-scientific videos concerning the renaturalization techniques used for such endangered environments as the fens

• final meeting for the presentation of the project results.

 

Results

During the project has been made​​:
 - a dedicated website online since September 28th, 2007, www.lifefriulifens.it
 - No 1,000 copies of this CD describing the project;
 - No 15,000 information leaflets in Italian, no 2,500 in German and No. 2,500 in English, of each biotope involved in the project;
 - No 10,000 brochures, "The flora and habitats of Friuli Resurgence";
 - No 13,000 brochures, "The Resurgence of Friuli wildlife";
 - No 6,000 posters, three different types;
 - No 5,000 hats;
 - No 2,500 educational handouts for teachers;
 - No 5,000 leaflets for childrens;
 - No 28,000 informative newsletter on the progress of the project, spread over three numbers;
 - No 12 evenings issues facing the local population, no 40 guided naturalistic tours, no 18 lessons with the Senior University, No 20 planning meetings with teachers and activities in libraries;
 - 180 theoretical lessons and guided tours in 120 schools;
 - 1,000 copies of the DVD documentary "A new life for the Resurgence of Friuli";
 - a photography contest, launched in early 2009 and lasted until 9/25/2009, with two sections for "adult" and "boys". The awards were held at the Municipal Auditorium Bertiolo on 10/23/2009, after the exhibition was set up in appropriate locations chosen by the four municipalities partners.
